Nail deformity

What is a nail deformity?

Cysts of the finger joints (mucoid cysts) or other lumps, injury or disease can cause deformity of the nail plates, which can be a functional and aesthetic nuisance.

In selected cases, nail revision surgery can give the nail a more normal and functional shape.

Nails of the thumbs and fingers are important functionally and aesthetically. They help with manipulating objects (such as buttoning a shirt, picking up small objects) and add to making our hands look aesthetically pleasing.
