Nerve injuries to the hand & wrist
Nerves in the hand and wrist provide the skin with sensation and muscles with signals to move. They are also involved in regulating skin moisture, pain and temperature. Injury to a nerve will result in loss of its function. Depending on the nerve and severity of the injury, nerve surgery may be needed.
Sharp injuries can often be repaired directly within a few days. Bigger injuries, broken tendon or delayed presentation of an injury may require a nerve reconstruction.
